My Approaches

Systemic
I am a systemic trained social worker, and couple & family therapist, I view life challenges within the context of relationships, family dynamics, culture, and larger social systems, not just the individual.
Attachment-Informed
& Emotion-Focused
I help clients understand how relational experiences shape patterns in love, conflict, and self-worth. And I support clients in accessing and expressing deeper emotions, especially when logic or withdrawal has taken over.

Person-Centered
& Trauma-Informed
I offer a compassionate, non-judgmental space where your lived experience guides the work, with sensitivity to how past experiences shape the present, prioritizing safety, choice, and empowerment.
Anti-Diet Culture
& Body-Respecting
I challenge harmful body and diet culture narratives and support a compassionate relationship with food and body.

Sex-Positive
I approach sexuality with openness and respect, supporting healthy, shame-free conversations about intimacy and desire. I believe consensual sexual experiences can be healthy, meaningful, and positive.
Culturally Attuned
I consider how culture, ancestry, migration, and societal narratives influence identity, family roles, and emotional expression.
About Davis
more about my professional background
I have been practicing counselling & therapy since 2018. I am committed to empowering individuals, couples, and families to navigate challenges and embrace growth. Let’s work together to find clarity, healing, and hope.
From my perspective, therapy is like seeking a second opinion from someone ...
-
who isn’t in your life,
-
who is compassionate and non-judgmental,
-
who is professionally trained to be ethically confidential,
-
who happens to have knowledge or experience working with individuals struggling similar situations as yours, and
-
who can share insights and find some potential way out with you.
I am a newcomer that lives and works on the traditional, ancestral, and occupied lands of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh peoples, now known colonially as Vancouver. Over the years, I've had the privilege of working with a diverse population in Canada, Hong Kong, and Singapore as a registered social worker/therapist/clinician.
With completing a postgraduate certificate in Couples & Family Therapy, I have a strong commitment in providing couple and family therapy. This additional training equips me with the advanced skills and knowledge to support couples and families in navigating relational dynamics and fostering more fulfilling relationships.
As a mental health clinician, I advocate for a positive and healthy relationship with food, challenging diet culture. I also specialize in addressing body image concerns and perfectionism, empowering individuals to embrace self-compassion and well-being.
Also, I support organ transplant recipients & their families, helping them navigate challenges of the transplant journey.
I believe in tailoring interventions to meet the unique needs of each individual. With my social work background, I apply a psychosocial perspective to address the multifaceted aspects of people's lives. This entails recognizing the interconnectedness of various systems, including family dynamics, culture, ancestry, and societal structures. In collaboration with my service users, I navigate these systems and empower them to challenge barriers.
When I am not working, I’m usually re-watching Modern Family & The Office, checking on my plants to see which ones survived the week, trying new recipes, and exploring food spots around the city. I also love daydreaming about my future retirement plan, it gives me just enough motivation to get out of bed and show up to work.
