Counselling for
Organ Transplant Recipients & Caregivers
Organ transplantation is life-saving, but it also brings unique emotional, relational, and medical challenges. The waiting, the pre-transplant assessments, the surgery, the long journey of recovery, and transitioning from different care teams can feel overwhelming, not only for the recipient but also for their family and caregivers.
Having worked as the paediatric transplant social worker in BC and Yukon solid multi organ transplant programme, I deeply understand the complexity of this journey. I provide specialized support for recipients (children & adults) and caregivers to process uncertainty, identity shifts, body image, as well as the changes and adjustments that come with living post-transplant. Together, we work on strengthening resilience, coping with medical demands, and making space for both the struggles and the moments of gratitude.
For families of organ donors, I want to be transparent that this has not been my area of specialization, but I am open to supporting you with compassion and care.
